Reasons to love Regina:

1)Lana Parrilla: There are some actors that just have "it" and she is one of them. Her acting is impressive to say the least.

2)She's a badass: I've always liked watching the tough characters. They add interest to the show.

3)She has inner pain: I feel bad for her. She is not only killing others around her, but she is also killing herself (on the inside).

4)She is funny: Some of the best sarcastic lines come out of her mouth. My personal favorite, "Well you've covered this room, I suggest you branch out."

Sorry I can't give much for originality, so the low rating for that doesn't really apply because it's a TV character!

I like the way you've done the clothes, the pose, posture and expression are well chosen. The patterns on the clothes are very well done, the use of contrast in the clothing is good and you've attested well to the creasing of the fabric.

However I feel that this piece lacks mid tones. Pencil portraits have all the advantages of using a wide range of gradation, and that advantage has not been used to its potential in this work. The features of the human face are rarely defined by hard outlines, but rather light and shadow- her face looks 'drawn' and to me, lacks the dramatic, realistic depth that comes from using shadows to create three dimensional realism. It's also a little unclear where the light is coming from, which takes away from the overall impact and poignance. Eyebrows are not solid black lines in perfect arches, they are usually softer because individual hair makes up their form, and there is skin underneath.

While I feel the rendering could have been done better, I think this still has a good impact because of the clothing and nice use of contrasts! But I definitely think you're talented and practice will see you through even greater levels of skill. Well done!
